Awesome!
you Are taking the 40 Days Love Challenge?
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:7-9
Friends you and I are born to love. We were created out of love, and our deepest desire is to be loved and to love. Moreover, if you lacked love from your birth parents, you would certainly not have come into being without God’s love providing you life. The impulse and also desire to love someone deeply – and also be loved in return – is the natural expression of our God nature. Which usually results in a Love Challenge.
Love is not invariably easy, particularly when you’re close enough to be married to somebody. Sure, there are hormones and butterflies and fireworks – occasionally. However, sometimes love hurts. The great author C. S. Lewis wrote a great piece in the booked “The Four Loves” quoted below.
To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. However, in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.
C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves
Love is best expressed in selfless expressions of giving, whether it’s your time, attention, flowers, cooking, playing with the children. Love must take action. Love means giving of yourself, your worth.
One of the most excruciatingly painful conditions is the feeling of being alone, lonely in a marriage. I remember when I went through that valley, and I can tell you waiting for your spouse to do something won’t deal with the pain. You’re not alone in this lifelong journey, take the challenge today and ignite that fire of love.
